Demons

Once able to see in dreams, and be comforted by, his loved ones who have passed on, a young man is now plagued with nightmares. Suffering terrifying attacks from a dark figure, the attempts to stop these night terrors on his own. Turning to drink won’t help him forget though, and he is at his wit’s end as to how to vanquish this menacing apparition. Feeling desperate, he seeks help from his doctor, hoping to end this torment.

Directed by Morningstar Desrosier, this short ends abruptly but gets straight to the point. There are many ways to numb ourselves in order to escape painful memories, but some are more acceptable than others. The moody lighting and scoring, plus the use of horror tropes, help to convey the fears of facing loss and loneliness. Demons certifies Morningstar Desrosier as talented young director on the cusp of blossoming into a great storyteller.
