As a person who has been burdened with wearing glasses for the majority of my life, I immediately identified with Nicolai Troshinsky’s exploration of vision. The story follows a boy who loses his glasses and can only see one thing in focus at a time. Since his sight is shaped by the sounds around him, he attempts to navigate through a blurry world filled with strange creatures. By playing with the notion of perception, Troshinsky crafts an animated film unlike anything you have seen before. I have no idea how he was able to create the effects he does in this film, but the results are simply stunning. Astigmatismo will be screening at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival next month.

Another great short. Thanks for sharing!
(And that animation is remarkable. I wish I knew how it was done.)
Glad you enjoyed it. The Sundance audiences is in for a treat, especially since they will be seeing it on the big screen.
