On the latest episode of Frameline, co-host Barbara Goslawski and I get you ready for two mini retrospectives celebrating female filmmakers. First, we dive into the works of German auteur Ulrike Ottinger, whose films are screening as part of a special Goethe Films series on the director. Then we discuss why Lucrecia Martel is one of the new wave of filmmakers that you should be paying attention to.

If you missed the episode when it aired live, you can find the recording on iTunes or listen to it below:

Frameline airs on Radio Regent, a station based in Toronto, most Thursday evenings from 6 PM to 7 PM. The show can be streamed live from the Radio Regent website as well as various radio apps. Also, be sure to rate and review the show on iTunes.

  1. I’m going to do an Auteurs piece on Lucrecia Martel in a couple of months as I’ve seen her first 3 feature films as I’m planning to see some shorts and hopefully her new film as she is an interesting filmmaker that deserves more exposure.
