Today is officially when yours truly is reminded that the sands of time slow down for no man; that’s right I turn another year older today. This birthday will be extra memorable on several fronts. By time you read this, my wife and I will have welcomed our second child into the world. So needless to say, this coming year will be one of big changes on a personal front.
Since I am in the celebrating mood, I have decided to resurrect an old favourite for many long time readers. For those unfamiliar with the feature, I Have Scene It Before is a fun little game that tests your film knowledge. Below you will find a series of films scenes, your job is to simply identify as many films as possible. It is highly recommended that you submit your guesses prior to seeing what other readers have submitted. Remember just because someone has made a guess does not necessarily mean that is it is right. How many of the following scenes can you identify?

#12 is Phoenix.
Correct. There is another one that I am surprised you haven’t gotten yet.
finally this is back
7. beasts of no nation
10. macbeth
13. sicario
18. steve jobs
my computer must suck because i can’t even make out whats happening in 14
All four are correct. As for 14, it is a tough one to make out. The main character (played by an actor who was in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy) is holding up a wooden figure in the night sky.
what is it, Hidalgo or something?
nm. just saw your 2015 comment
Right actor, wrong movie. Though this one does have many elements of the western genre woven in.
oh duh. 9 Jurassic World
You are correct with #9
Nice work, these are really tough!
If it helps, all the scenes are taken films released theatrically in 2015.
I think 2 is Far from the Madding Crowd.
19 is definitely Mistress America.
Both are correct.
Congratulations and happy birthday, Courtney. Hope your family is all snuggled in somewhere and doing well.
Thanks, Jay. We’re all tired, as to be expected, but everyone is doing well.
First, congratulations!
Second, you didn’t take it easy on us for this, did you? I don’t really know any for sure and can only even make guesses on a few.
9 – Slumdog Millionaire?
13 – Jarhead?
17 – I know I’ve seen this. Is it Babel?
Thanks, Chip.
Unfortunately none of the three are correct.
I think 15 is Carol.
Nope. It’s Duke of Burgundy.
I feel like I should know 14 as well. Room?
It is Duke of Burgundy! #14 is wrong though.
Happy birthday and congratulations! These are super tough. Is #16 Home? Is #21 Iris? I feel I should know more but I’ve got nothing else.
Thanks, Sean.
Your guesses for #16 and #21 are correct.
Congrats on everything Courtney!!! Merry Christmas to you all!
