TIFF announced today that it will collaborate in 2015 with TimesTalks, The New York Times’ initiative which livestreams conversations between Times journalists and today’s leading talents and thinkers.
The first TimesTalks+TIFF takes place in Los Angeles on Monday, February 16, at 8 p.m. P.T. (11 p.m. ET) at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, California, and features a special interview with The Imitation Game stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley.
A live audience of film lovers in L.A., and audiences around the globe via live webcast, will watch these Academy Award nominees for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress in conversation with Cara Buckley, The New York Times culture reporter and lead writer for The Carpetbagger, the Times’ awards season blog. The Imitation Game, winner of the prestigious Grolsch People’s Choice Award at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival, is also nominated Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Film Editing and Best Production Design at the 2015 Academy Awards.
The inaugural TimesTalks+TIFF launches a series of high-profile talks and panel discussions about the top films and performers of the year for consumer audiences in the key markets of New York, Toronto, London and Los Angeles, aligning with TIFF’s global strategy of placing more of the organization’s programming in international centres around the world. This series of TimesTalks, in collaboration with TIFF, will feature fascinating and entertaining one-on-one conversations and panel discussions between high-profile film talent and New York Times film journalists for audiences of film lovers and film industry leaders.
This event will be streamed live online at TIFF.net and www.TimesTalks.com.
