Dust

In Dust, Alan Rickman (Die Hard, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) plays Todd, a loner who begins stalking a single mother (Jodie Whittaker of Attack the Block) and her young daughter Jessica (Lola Albert). Following them home from school one day, Todd lingers around their house until nightfall before making his move. It is only when both Jessica and her mother are at their most vulnerable does Todd’s true intensions become clear. Given the silently somber and slightly disturbing tone that directors Ben Ockrent and Jake Russell establish, it is easy to anticipate where the narrative is headed…or so we think. Dust ultimately takes an unexpected turn that completely forces us to re-examine everything we have observed to that point.
