It is time to test your film knowledge with the April edition of I Have Scene It Before. Last month only 15 of the 21 films were identified. The six films that stumped people were: Hirokazu Kore-eda’s 2006 film Hana (#7); Disney’s 1977 gem The Rescuers (#8); Bigas Luna’s 1993 film Golden Balls (#9); DC’s 2014 animated action flick Justice League War (#10); the 1987 cult classic Miami Connection (#14); and Hal Hartley’s 1992 indie Simple Men (#19). Here is this month’s selection of film scenes. How many can you identify?

This is fun….I can say I recognized the first half and had no clue for the remaining half.
The level of difficulty varies from month to month. So be sure to try your luck again when next month’s edition rolls around.
6 – Kingdom of Heaven
11 – Bowling for Columbine
14 – Pussy Riot – A Punk Prayer
20 – It Might Get Loud
21 – The Interrupters
All are correct. Funny enough, there are three others not mentioned that I figured you would get instantly. Proving yet again that I still cannot predict the films people will recognize in this game.
10. No Man’s Land
15. Tokyo Story
5. Could be any Ghibli film but I am going to guess, Castle in the Sky.
Only #10 is right. You are on the right track with the other two though.
1. The Last Emperor
12. Breaking Away
14. Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer
19. Philomena
All are correct.
7 – All Dogs Go to Heaven?
8 – Striptease?
18 – No Holds Barred!
#7 is wrong. The rest are correct.
3. Weird Science
5. The Wind Rises
7. Peter Pan
9. King of the Hill?
15. I know it’s an Ozu film but I’m not sure. I want to say Good Morning but that might not be it as it’s definitely not Floating Weeds as my brain thinks its Late Autumn.
16. Antichrist (you can’t get me on Von Trier)
# 9 and #15 are wrong…though you have the correct director for the latter.
The rest are correct.
2. Minority Report
5. Porco Rosso?
6. Kingdom of Heaven
deary me, that’s all i know. i havent even seen these others
#2 and #5 are wrong. I am pretty sure you have seen #2 and you have the right director for #5
#6 is correct.
2. Man of Steel?
5. i havent seen any of those Japanime films so I dont even know any other film names to toss out
#2 is correct!
Though Japanime is hit or miss for some, I definitely recommend given a few of the Studio Ghibli films a shot.
1. The Last Emperor
2. Transformers?
3. Weird Science
5. The Wind Rises
7. Peter Pan
8. Striptease (Why, oh why, have I actually seen that rubbish)
11. South Park?
19. Philomena
That’s all I have . . .
#2 and #11 are wrong. The rest are correct.
As for #8, a lot of us suffered through that film. It wanted to be edgy and funny but failed on both accounts.
Well. I knew 2 and 11 might wrong. 🙂
And amen on 8.
